Teacher guide — Coffee Shop: Team Shift
Objectives
- Feel, as a team under time pressure, how many digital products a 'simple' coffee shop runs on — and how easily half stay invisible.
- Experience the traps a first buyer meets: hidden costs, agent-washing, vendor lock-in, ignored stakeholders, and the price of 'free' time.
- See that good decisions need information, a method, and talking to the right people — not just speed.
Before you start
- Is a neighbourhood coffee shop a digital business? What software might it quietly depend on?
- When a vendor's landing page promises an 'AI agent', how would you check what it actually does today?
Debrief questions
- Which trap hit the most teams — and what was the tell you could have caught on the card?
- When your team was split, what broke the tie: the owner, the clock, or someone finally sharing their card?
- Name one product from the map you didn't know your own workplace or studies rely on.

4-step debrief
Name the round-1 surprise (half the shop was invisible) → walk the five traps with the group numbers from the dashboard → reveal Team Mood → bridge to the course. The full facilitator script, failure playbook and no-app fallback are in the repo's facilitator guide.
